How to Choose a cPanel Hosting Plan for Your Website
Hosting plans list a lot of numbers, and it is easy to pay for more than you need or pick a plan you outgrow in a month. Here is how to read them.
Disk space
This is storage for your website files, emails and databases. A typical business website with a few dozen pages uses well under a gigabyte. Image-heavy sites, shops and sites with many mailboxes need more.
Bandwidth and traffic
Bandwidth is how much data visitors download. A small site with modest traffic rarely hits limits, but if you publish large downloads or video, plan for more.
Email accounts and databases
Count the mailboxes you need (for example info@, sales@, and one for each team member). Dynamic sites such as WordPress or a shop need a database each, so check the database limit if you plan to host several sites.
Number of websites
Some plans allow one domain, others several. If you run a few small sites, one plan with multiple domains can be better value than separate plans.
Start small, upgrade when you need to
A good host lets you move up a plan as you grow. Start with what you need today, watch your usage in cPanel, and upgrade when you get close to a limit.
